Bio-Gas is used as an onsite energy generation for the HRU operations so there is no dependence on any other external energy source.

It is also used as thermal heat for drying the waste feedstock. Generally the HRU requires the waste feedstock to be less than 10% moisture content as it is taken into the unit for processing.

The main uses for Bio-Gas are:

• a ‘green’ fuel for drying the input waste feedstock
• heating the conversion reactor
• for on-site use to raise steam and/or electricity
• to provide off-site district heating or thermal energy to industrial users
• to run electrical generators for the production of electricity
