Job Description

Job Purpose:

The primary role of the Retail Banking Manager is to develop, maintain and lead a team focused on quality and proactive service to our clients. This position is directly responsible for the support and service functions at the bank branch, while upholding Midstates Bank's Mission Statement, Core Values and Service Standards. The Retail Banking Manager will be responsible for the retail goals of the bank, day-to-day support activities at the location, along with achieving the organization's strategic goals. The Retail Banking Manager will also work with the VP of Community Banking on operational, efficiency and CSR-related goals.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manages CSR Team. Responsibilities include coaching, training, and developing team members.
  • Handles scheduling and personnel issues, including performance reviews for CSR Team.
  • Monitors CSR performance including, but not limited to, cash differences, proof errors, customer satisfaction, sales and referrals.
  • Processes customer transactions such as cashing checks, taking deposits, processing night deposits, and redeeming savings bonds. Includes handling inquiries and problem solving for customers in person and via phone.
  • Maintains and reconciles teller cash drawer, and prepares proof items to be sent to Operations.
  • Opens new checking, savings, IRAs and time CD accounts.
  • Actively participates in Midstates Bank's calling program to bring new business to the bank.
  • Serves as lead for business and commercial account opening, including merchant capture deposit, merchant processing and cash management services.
  • Cross-sells various bank products and services.
  • Responsible for compliance with deposit regulatory requirements and internal procedures for location managed.
  • Leads location onboarding and training program for newly hired CSRs.
  • Participates in civic activities to promote growth and development of the community and a positive image for the bank.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma. Advanced education preferred.

 

Experience:

2 years bank experience; bank deposit/operations experience desired. Personnel management preferred.
