Lead Swim Coach (Ages 11-13)

Join the Elmhurst Aquatics Coaching Team!

Elmhurst Aquatics is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lead Swim Coach to guide and support athletes in our 11-13 age group. This position offers the opportunity to positively impact swimmer development, manage dynamic training sessions, and contribute to a strong, positive team culture.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about swimming, athlete development, and fostering a fun yet competitive environment. As a key member of our coaching team, you’ll work closely with other coaches, board members, and parents to ensure the continued success of Elmhurst Aquatics.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, write, and lead daily training sessions for swimmers aged 11-13
• Assist with other training groups as needed
• Attend and support all assigned practices and swim meets
• Focus on technical development and cultivating strong fundamentals for swimmers of all levels
• Collaborate with staff and maintain positive relationships with swimmers, families, and team leadership
• Ensure adherence to team goals and standards while promoting a safe and inclusive training environment
• Maintain evening and weekend availability, including travel for meets as necessary

Qualifications

• Coaching experience is highly preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of competitive swimming and stroke mechanics
• Enthusiastic, motivated personality with a strong ability to communicate and inspire
• Ability to lead by example as a positive role model
• Willing to complete or already possess the following certifications (Elmhurst Aquatics covers the cost of certification and professional development):
• USA-S Non-Athlete Registration
• USA-S Criminal Background Check
• USA-S Athlete Protection Certification
• ARC Safety Training for Swim Coaches (including CPR/AED for Adult/Child)

Compensation

• Hourly Pay: Starting at $18/hour or higher based on experience
• Salaried Pay: Available based on experience

Work Schedule

• After-school hours
• Evening shifts
• Weekend meets/events as needed
