Job Description

Wage:

• Golf Maintenance Technician - ($20 to $23, DOE)
• Advanced Golf Maintenance - ($23.5 to $25, DOE)

Typical Schedule:

April 1st, 2025 through October 31st, 2025. Full and part-time positions available. Start times change during the golf season based on sunrise.

• Full Time: 40-hour workweek, Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday. Overtime is needed during tournaments and peak maintenance periods. Typical workdays are from 5:30 AM until 2:00 PM.
• Part-Time: Flexible schedule, 10-30 hours per week. Typical workdays are from 5:30 AM until 11:30 AM.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Under the guidance of the Golf Course Superintendent, assists with various tasks related to golf course maintenance and construction. Learns the safe, efficient, and proper operation of a wide range of equipment. Works collaboratively as part of a team to ensure the best possible course conditions and appearance at Sonnenalp Club.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• General mowing of all golf course grounds
• Trim mowing and string trimming
• Bunker raking, and bunker maintenance
• Safe operation of all turf equipment
• Hand watering
• Golf course set-up and cup cutting
• Fly mowing and trimming irrigation heads
• Assistance in construction and irrigation projects
• Fertilizer, pesticide, fungicide product application

Education/Experience:

• Golf Maintenance or Landscaping experience preferred.
• Willing to train individuals with no prior golf maintenance experience.

Special Skills/Equipment:

• Ability to learn to operate golf course equipment safely and efficiently,
• Ability to follow both written and oral directions,
• Must be able to work weekends and long hours as business permits.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position. Individuals must be able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in adverse weather and temperature conditions (snow, wind, rain, warm and cold).
